Peripheral Drive Sludge Scraper
We primarily provide a comprehensive range of ancillary products for water supply and wastewater treatment systems, including trash interception, chemical dosing and reaction, sedimentation, water collection, sludge removal, and filtration, as well as biological media and aerators for wastewater treatment projects.
I. Uses
Peripheral-drive sludge scrapers are suitable for radial-flow sedimentation tanks of medium and large diameters with central inflow, peripheral outflow, and central sludge discharge; they are primarily used for sludge removal in the primary sedimentation tanks of municipal wastewater treatment plants.
II. Structure and Operating Principle
This equipment employs peripheral drive: sewage enters the tank through an inlet pipe at the center, is diffused by a flow-stabilizing cylinder, and then flows radially outward in a uniform manner toward the periphery. Suspended sludge settles to the tank bottom after sedimentation. The drive unit rotates the working bridge along the perimeter, which in turn drives the scraper arm and sludge scraper; under the action of the static water pressure within the tank, the settled sludge is discharged from the tank via the sludge discharge pipe. Floating scum on the water surface is skimmed toward the tank edge by a skimming device and then scraped into the sludge collection hopper by a skimming rake for removal from the tank. Meanwhile, the supernatant liquid overflows through a triangular effluent weir into the effluent trough and is conveyed away.

V. Main Features
1. The working bridge may be configured as a half-bridge or a full-bridge, and its material may be carbon steel or stainless steel.
2. The drive unit employs a shaft-mounted helical gear reducer directly coupled to the drive roller, resulting in a compact structure and high mechanical efficiency.
3. The scraper collects sludge along a logarithmic spiral trajectory, ensuring smooth operation and high sludge-collection efficiency.
4. A pond bottom slope of 1:10 can reduce resistance during sludge scraping.
