The expanded-tube nozzle sludge-discharge device is a novel, non-mechanical, high-efficiency sludge-discharge product. It addresses the shortcomings of conventional perforated-tube, orifice-type sludge-discharge systems—namely, short suction lift, poor sludge-suction capacity, low discharge efficiency, frequent sludge accumulation at the bottom of the tank, and, in some cases, the need to shut down operations for manual desilting and sludge removal. This device has been specially designed and developed as a new, highly efficient sludge-discharge system for reaction tanks and sedimentation tanks in water-treatment projects.
This device consists of a sludge-discharge expansion nozzle and a perforated main pipe. The expansion nozzle is installed on the perforated sludge-discharge main pipe in accordance with design specifications, thereby forming an expanded-type sludge-discharge pipe, which is then mounted at the designated sludge-discharge location at the bottom of the reaction tank or sedimentation tank. Thanks to the expansion of the nozzle, under the action of the gravitational head within the tank, the sludge deposited at the bottom of the reaction tank or sedimentation tank can be rapidly drawn in and completely removed, thus fully resolving the long-standing challenge of sludge removal in reaction tanks and sedimentation tanks at water treatment plants and wastewater treatment plants. The successful development of this expanded-nozzle sludge-discharge system will replace existing perforated sludge-discharge pipes and can be widely applied to sludge-discharge systems in water supply, drainage, and other water-treatment projects.
