Straight and folded plates in the reaction tank

1. The stainless steel folded-plate reactor is a specialized piece of equipment used in the flocculation basins of water treatment plants for reaction and flocculation, and the effectiveness of these processes directly affects the quality of the effluent from the sedimentation basin.
2. Baffle chambers are typically installed at the inlet of the flocculation reactor. As the water flow passes between the baffle plates within the chamber, it rapidly contracts and expands, generating numerous vortical flows that enhance collisions among floc-forming particles and promote rapid flocculation, thereby forming large flocs that settle out. 3. The fabricated baffle plates are manufactured to precise dimensions, exhibit excellent structural strength, and are reinforced with stiffening ribs. The V-shaped grooves are formed by pressing and shaping, ensuring good resilience and dimensional stability after fabrication, which facilitates transportation.
4. Baffle plates are generally installed at the inlet of the flocculation reactor and may be arranged in a peak-to-peak configuration or with their peaks aligned, i.e., as opposed baffles or parallel baffles. Stainless steel plates typically have a thickness of 1.5–3 mm, with bending angles of 90° or 120°, and appropriate reinforcing measures, such as additional bends at the upper and lower edges, shall be provided.
5. Baffle-type flocculation is a novel flocculation method that primarily involves installing a specified number of reaction elements within the reaction tank. The water flow moves vertically up and down through the reactor, undergoing multiple turns and bends to promote flocculation. This method exhibits strong adaptability to variations in raw water quantity and quality, requires a shorter hydraulic retention time, and can accordingly reduce the dosage of coagulant.
6. The baffle reactor is fabricated from high-quality stainless steel sheets using CNC cutting, cold stamping, hydraulic forming, and welding, with a specified number of pressure-relief holes provided at the bottom. It offers excellent reaction performance, a smooth surface that resists sludge accumulation and algae growth, convenient maintenance, a lightweight and compact structure, an aesthetically pleasing appearance, superior corrosion resistance, long service life, and easy installation. 7. The baffle surfaces made of stainless steel are smooth and clean, resistant to sludge adhesion and algae proliferation, and visually appealing, thereby eliminating the need for water treatment plants to undertake the labor-intensive task of regularly cleaning fouling from the baffle surfaces.

The water flows in a tortuous manner between corrugated plates or alternately contracts and expands between adjacent waves, maintaining continuous flow and thereby generating numerous small vortices that enhance particle collision and flocculation.

The plate is typically installed at the downstream end of the flocculation reactor, with a relatively large spacing to ensure a slow flow velocity. The stainless steel plates generally have a thickness of 2–5 mm and are transversely reinforced to enhance their structural strength.
